Keeping familiar clothes while growing out gray

I have decided to grow out my gray hair, and I want to keep wearing the clothes I already own during the transition. For now, the roots and lengths have different colors, and I expect that mixed appearance to last through several more haircuts. My scarf drawer already includes cream, gray, pink, and navy, so I have a few contrasting colors available for a small experiment. While looking for a way to describe those differences, I saved this reference on personal color analysis as a starting point for further reading. I do not want a label to decide what I am allowed to wear, but some vocabulary might help me notice patterns. Is it sensible to reassess a few scarves as the hair changes, or would you leave that experiment until the transition finishes? I could keep brief notes about the combinations I like, with the same clothes and mirror position each time I check. What would you try first if the aim were to make this gradual change feel manageable while keeping spending to a minimum?
